FCC Approves The Garmin Nuvifone

It seems like we’ve been waiting for Garmin’s Nuvifone for all eternity, and hopefully this latest update is a sign that the wait will be coming to an end soon. The FCC has given its approval for Garmin’s Nuvifone, though it’s curiously named as the “Calf” from ASUS in the report. It looks like 3G is being tested on the 1900MHz and 850MHz bands, which should be great for us in North America. Hopefully Garmin can get this phone out on time for its release in the first half of 2009.
