BlackBerry Application Suite For WinMob Again

More details of the Windows Mobile BlackBerry Application suite that was pictured and also caught on video a few days ago have surfaced. The suite will be able to run on some Windows Mobile 6.x Pro devices, and users will even have the option to allow the suite to take over the smartphone, as the BlackBerry shell can be launched when the device is turned on. The environment will support the popular BlackBerry services such as email, phone, calendar, address book, tasks, memos, browsing, instant messaging and other BlackBerry related features, though unfortunately video playback doesn’t seem to be supported. More importantly, users will be able to connect to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server for synchronization. The suite is based on BlackBerry OS 4.2.1, and the icing on the cake is that since most of these Windows Mobile devices use touchscreens, you will have a touchscreen BlackBerry device at your disposal. Users will also be able to access files stored on the device, and it will have 32MB of storage for itself. There is still no mention of when RIM will release the BlackBerry Application Suite for Windows Mobile, but hopefully it isn’t too far away.
