No Android-powered Device By AT&T Yet

AT&T users drooling over T-Mobile’s G1 will be a tad disappointed to hear AT&T’s CEO say that while they have been looking into Android for a while, they have no plans to offer an Android-powered handset anytime soon. One of the reasons given for the snub was that Android needed to be more open and offer some “non-Google” applications. Maybe if the G1’s popularity continues AT&T will be singing a different tune in the near future. We’ll have to wait and see.
