Debian On The T-Mobile G1
The method to get root access to T-Mobile’s G1 hasn’t been around for too long, but someone has already found a way to get Debian Linux running on the G1. Apparently installing Debian will allow you to do a lot more with your phone than Android currently allows, and it doesn’t affect the phone’s functionality too. While this is interesting, the installation certainly isn’t for the faint-hearted, so if you’re not prepared to get your hands dirty, then don’t attempt this, as you’ll probably void your warranty in the process. This only works with the RC29 firmware, as the RC30 firmware fixes the root access hack.
