Why Google Delayed The Android Update

While an update was originally scheduled to be released shortly after users received their G1 phones, it looks like Google stopped the distribution of the update (RC28) after Google identified a security issue with the browser. Due to this issue, it seems Google fixed the problem and issues a new update (RC29), which was released on October 27th. If you did manage to get the RC28 update before it was stopped, then you’ll be prompted to upgrade to RC29.
