Unlock Your T-Mobile G1 By Yourself

Want to unlock your spanking new G1 but don’t know how to? Fortunately it’s very easy. All you need is to have an activated T-Mobile SIM card for a while, how you get your hands on the SIM card is another issue. The steps are:

1. Go through setup process to link any Gmail account
2. Go to Settings > Wireless Controls > Wi-Fi Settings > Enable Wi-Fi
3. Connect to nearby Wi-Fi network if one is available
4. Remove said SIM card and insert un-activated SIM that came with the G1

After this, you’ll have a nice shiny G1 without the hassle of a 2-year contract. Yay!
