Toshiba Cell Phone

We all complain about the bad battery life our phones have. In this day, it’s actually quite shocking to see that a phone still only manages about 3 hours of talk-time (on average). Toshiba is now teasing us at with a direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) that they’ve been able to fit into a cell phone at CEATEC 2008. With said power source, your phone should do a healthy 6 hours of talk-time, which is impressive. While Toshiba isn’t revealing the actual capacity of the DMFC, it’s said that a 50ml cartridge is good for about 15 refills. There isn’t any release date yet, though there is mention that such a phone might be available “as early as next year”. Will it spark off a battery revolution?
