T-Mobile Customer Data Blunder

Published

on

T-Mobile might be riding high on the wave of anticipation of its upcoming Android-powered G1, but that doesn’t mean that everything is plain sailing for it. It’s recently admitted that a security breach way back in 2006 resulted in confidential data belonging to 17 million of its customers being stolen, and stolen data includes birth dates, telephone numbers, addresses and email address, fortunately no bank details were leaked. To further add salt to the wound, T-Mobile has also mentioned the data continues to circulate, but has not been sold. It sure doesn’t paint a pretty picture of T-Mobile, especially since said security breach happened way back in 2006. Too little too late perhaps?
