Sprint Will Not Sell Nextel

Sprint was unsuccessfully trying to sell its Nextel iDEN network for a while, though it looks like it’s given up on that idea, probably because the credit crunch is preventing prospective buyers from making a move. That being the case, Sprint has decided to retain its iDEN network and work to rejuvenate said network and also make the best of its walkie talkie feature. Sprint has also improved the iDEN network by adding more cell towers, and has extended its commitment with Motorola and will launch 8 new iDEN phones during 2009. Looks like Sprint won’t be selling the iDEN network anytime soon then.
