Should Palm Consider Android?

Jon Fortt of Fortune has suggested that Palm should consider using Google’s Android platform. Seeing that Palm’s new Treo Pro already runs Microsoft’s Windows Mobile operating system and Microsoft is already rumored to charge handset makers $8-15 to license Windows Mobile, Palm could probably lower the cost of its phones by using Android. Considering how Palm has taken an insanely long time to try come up with their next operating system (which they still haven’t), it might actually be a good idea for them to consider Android, especially since everybody seems eager to get an Android-powered phone.
