Ericsson Hits 100MBps In LTE Tests

on

Ericsson took a step in the right direction when it managed to hit the 100Mbps mark with its LTE (Long Term Evolution) tests where 2.6GHz base stations and commercial antennas manages to hit 170Mbps in raw throughput thanks to optimal antenna and channel configuration. It also worked on a method that delivered 130Mbps and has the option to use twice the bandwidth without any modifications to hit 260Mbps. Of course, the actual throughput is way below those theoretical figures, but it’s still about 20 times faster than your common 3G network speeds, which we hope will result in a nice bump to network speeds in the future.
