Android Market Offers Paid Apps In 2009

Published

on

Android is cool and all, but what will really determine its success will be the Android Market. With the launch of T-Mobile’s G1, third-party developers will be able to start uploading their applications to the Android Market from Monday, and all those apps will be free. Google will start allowing paid applications around Q1 of 2009, so that isn’t too far off, and hopefully that will spur the big boys to come up with some awesome apps for Android, though that doesn’t mean that free apps aren’t great either. Google’s offering for paid apps on the Market should appeal to developers as its offering of 70 percent profit for the developers and the other 30 percent will go to carriers and billing fees.
