T-Mobile Expands 3G Coverage
With the impending arrival of their Android-powered G1, T-Mobile USA has announced that it’s planning to expand its 3G coverage area by an additional 8 areas, in addition to the existing 13 areas. The new areas include Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Sacramento, San Francisco and Seattle, with the UMTS/HSDPA network capable of download speeds up to 1Mbps. T-Mobile plans to have 27 US areas (which include Birmingham, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis and Tampa) with 3G coverage by the end of 2008. All this extra 3G coverage will surely benefit their G1 when it’s announced next week.
