Palm Profits Dip Even Further
While Palm might be enjoying quite a bit of success with their Palm Centro, that success on its own hasn’t been enough to stop the seemingly downward spiral that Palm is in. Palm has reportedly lost $41.9 million this quarter, compared to the $0.8 million loss from the same period a year ago. Palm has attributed half of that loss to increasing stock prices, as well as related compensation and securities, with the other half due to performance-related problems. While it looks like Palm will be depending heavily on the (supposedly) upcoming Linux-based PalmOS, which is supposed to be released on 2009, the launch of a new PalmOS might not be enough to stop their downhill slide.
