More Details On T-Mobile AppStore

We all know that T-Mobile will be jumping on the AppStore bandwagon and will be creating its own version of the AppStore. Some of the additional details of their AppStore have cropped up, including:

  • The initial offering will allow free and pay apps, but they must not contain any advertising, and there will also be no Android apps allowed.
  • The developer agreement will be live on T-Mobile’s site next week, and developers will be able to start signing up as soon as it goes live
  • With regards to splitting the profit, T-Mobile has currently set it as 50-50, but other factors will be able to bump it up to as much as 70%.
  • T-Mobile will provide demo handsets and a virtual lab to help developers
  • Free apps will be allowed in the store, with the minor inconvenience of the limited amount of bandwidth that they can use.
  • There currently will not be an API, but T-Mobile is considering opening things up a bit more in the future.
