Microsoft Skymarket To Challenge Appstore?

A report from Apple Insider is indicating that Microsoft is planning to launch its own version of an AppStore, currently dubbed Skymarket. This report comes after Microsoft posted a job listing for a Senior Product Manager to “oversee a marketplace service for Windows Mobile”. Skymarket isn’t planned to be commercially launched until the release of Windows Mobile 7, which would time it around 2009. This move really shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, especially since everybody can see the popularity of Apple’s Appstore, and even Google is coming up with their own Android Marketplace.
