Push Notification Out Of iPhone 2.1 Beta

Published

on

In a rather sudden move, Apple have removed the push notification service from their beta 4 of the iPhone 2.1 firmware. The push notification service, which has been present from beta 1 onwards, was supposed to provide directional GPS data as part of the upgrade. Apple haven’t provided much information as to why they pulled it, except that it was pulled for “further development inside the company”, and unfortunately failed to mention if it will be back in a future beta. Hopefully this feature will be back in time for the planned final version of the 2.1 firmware in September.
