Now There Are Phone Sniffing Dogs

The Washington Post is reporting that Maryland now has three dogs that are trained to sniff out cell phones that are smuggled into prisons. It seems that each cell phone has a unique scent signature, and this is what allows the dogs to successfully sniff out the cell phones. The first dog trained to do so was called Murphy, a 20 month-old English Springer Spaniel in 2006, who went through training in prisons across the East of England.
