iPhone 3G Bought And Disassembled

Published

on

While everybody else around the world might be busy checking out the iPhone 2.0 firmware, or Apple’s App Store, other people have already gotten their hands on the iPhone 3G, and have taken it apart no less!

A couple of guys from iFixit.com flew to New Zealand to be amongst the first few people to buy the iPhone, and of course, take it apart.

Some notable points from the disassembly include:

  • The LCD and Glass components are no longer glued together, which makes replacing the glass much cheaper
  • The battery is not soldered on, great for people who might need to change the battery after a year or so.
