Bell And Telus Charge For Incoming Text
It probably wasn’t the smartest move, but they’ve gone ahead and done it anyways. Canadian carriers Bell and Telus will start charging for incoming text messages to customers, starting on August 8th for Bell, and August 24th for Telus. Apparently they’ve noticed that a lot of people use SMS, and want to take (an unfair) advantage of that. The charges will be $0.15 Canadian for incoming text messages, unless users are subscribed to an existing monthly plan. As a result of this brilliant move, they’re currently facing class action lawsuits.
