Android And Symbian To Merge?
It seems that J. Gold Associates are predicting that Google’s Android OS (operating system) and Nokia’s Symbian will combine and become a single open source OS, all this within the near future (three to six months). The report seems to have a minor disregard of the fact that Android devices are supposed to launch in late 2008, and Nokia and Google have no formal relationship that could bring about this merge easily. Having said that, they still stand by their prediction and state “A combination of the Android and Symbian efforts would be good for the industry, good for Google and good for Symbian.”
