Teleflip, Send And Receive E-Mail Via Text Messaging
Teleflip is a new free service that allows users to send and receive their emails via conventional text messaging service. Teleflip will work with any email account that doesn’t require a secure connection to the web, which is fine with Yahoo Mail, Hotmail and Gmail.
The flexibility of being able to email without an internet connection will be very attractive for some. Of course, its not without its downsides, one of them being that since text messaging is limited to 160 characters per message, emails will be chopped into snippets of 160 characters, which can be really irritating. There is also a minor privacy issue, as it seems that whenever the user receives an email from Teleflip, the company will send a one-time email to the sender telling them about Teleflip, though Teleflip says that they will be allowing users to disable those messages come August.
