Sony Ericsson Introduces Its F305 Gaming Phone
Sony Ericsson has just introduced their F305 gaming-oriented phone at the CommunicAsia show in Singapore. Aside from supporting the usual Sony Ericsson 3D Java games via its dedicated buttons in the horizontal form factor, it also includes a Nintendo Wii swipe and swing gesture controls. These new improvements can be applied to games such as Bowling, Bass fishing, Jockey games and more.
In terms of a gaming environment, the F305 is equipped with a 2-inch 262k color 176×220 pixel TFT display. Audio is provided by a pair of high-power stereo speakers that are built-in. Even though the F305 is said to be good for 8 hours of gaming (or talk time), Sony Ericsson will be offering its new Power Pack CPP-100 external power supply in Q4 this year. Such a device could end up being a real life saver sometimes.
Some other features include quad-band GSM/EDGE, Bluetooth with A2DP stereo support. A Memory Stick M2 card slot is available for storage expansion, especially since users will be snapping away with the 2 megapixel camera. The F305 supports changeable rear covers, and there is an extra one included in the box, with a color coordinated wired headset.
The measurements of the F305 are at 96mm x 47mm x 14.6mm (3.8″ x 1.9″ x .6″) and weighs 98g (3.4oz). It is slated for a Q3 launch this year, and will be available in Polar White or Mystic Black.
