Qisda Showcases Interesting Dual Mode Phone
Qisda’s current unnamed slider phone is quite intriguing, as it’s a WiMAX dual-mode handset, with a built-in WiFi module. It currently supports both 802.16e WiMAX, as well as GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.
This phone is reportedly a test device used in the M-Taiwan initiative to promote WiMAX, and aside from handling voice calls via almost any flavor of wireless protocol, it’s also powered by Windows Mobile 6.1. Though this model didn’t seem to have 3G, a spokesperson was adamant it would be available eventually.
