OpenMoko Freerunner Looking Good

It looks like Openmoko’s latest open-source creation, the FreeRunner, which was announced several months back in hopes of a spring release, will be released sometime soon, and probably only miss it’s springtime date by a few days.

A recent message from Openmoko’s VP of marketing said that the retail phones should be packed and shipped by tomorrow, and hopefully clear customs by the first of July. This means that users who purchase it should be able to get them delivered in the first week or two of the month. If only the FreeRunner had 3G, it’d be exceptional, but currently it’s already an achievement, and hopefully Openmoko is working on the next version.
