The $10 Disposable Phones Are Here
Mobile phone development has progressed in leaps and bounds, especially in the recent years. The good thing about all this progression is that the production costs of phones can be reduced, which can only be a good thing. This has allowed Hop-on, the disposable cellphone company to launch their Hop-on Hop 1800 disposable phone.
For just $10, the Hop 1800 offers its users straight-forward mobile phone calling. Obviously to cut costs down, there is no display or text-messaging. It will also only support dual-band GSM frequencies.
Two variants of the Hop 1800 will be available, one for GSM frequencies in at 850Mhz and 1900Mhz for US customers, while the other will support 900/1800Mhz for the rest of the world.
Balance is a wonderful and mysterious thing. So its nice to see that while the display has been omitted in order to reduce costs, the phone still comes with polyphonic ring tones, and an Infineon chipset to ensure clear and crisp audio quality.
For just $10, available only with pre-paid minutes, this phone is an ideal backup phone for anybody traveling through GSM networks, or for an emergency handset. It’s available at local convenience stores or big-box retailer.
And if $10 isn’t cheap enough, users can get a $5 rebate when they return the phone to have it recycled!
