Qualcomm Announces Smaller Bluetooth Chip

Qualcomm, who are the developers of advanced wireless technologies have just announced their latest addition to their Bluetooth solutions, which is aimed at delivering a better user experience and offering significant advantages for handset manufacturers.

The new BTS4025 system-on-a-chip (SoC), is said to offer full support for Bluetooth 2.1 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) specification. It also offers improved radio-frequency performance in a smaller-efficient package.

Qualcomm have officially said that that this is optimized for interfacing with certain Mobile Station Modem chipsets, and does not require any external components and can use the system clock, which allows for easy integration. This also improved battery life by reducing stand-by time, and the increased output power improves the connection reliability and range between devices

The new BTS4025 SoC is claimed to be the industry’s smallest and more power efficient Bluetooth device.
