AT&T Dismisses The "iPhone Black" Listed On Its Website

AT&T has released an official statement regarding the discovery of a mysterious “iPhone Black” on its model selector earlier today.

“The reference to ‘iPhone Black’ was simply a temporary placeholder used over the weekend for a scheduled catalog update. It was meant to temporarily distinguish the various iPhone models-4GB, 8GB and 16GB-but was never reassigned. We’re changing the site now.”

It may seem to make sense to use colours to distinguish between different capacities of the iPhone, then again, probably not. What would the others be called then? “iPhone White” and “iPhone Green”? This coupled with the ongoing rumors that the next generation 3G iPhone will be black, makes for very interesting news.

Everybody will be holding their breath, hoping that the amount of rumors actually means that the 3G iPhone is just around the corner.
