iPhone to add haptic feedback to touchscreen keyboard
The iPhone is a hell of a gadget, don’t get us wrong. We’ve been in love with our Apple phones since the day we waited in line to get them. One pet peeve we do have about the phone is that the keyboard play can get a little messy. Words get jumbled and misspelled more often than we would like. Malcolm Hall and Eve Hoggan of the University of Glasgow are working on a way to create better usability for the iPhone’s keyboard.
They’ve developed software, which is still in very early conceptual stages, could add haptic feedback to the iPhone keypad, letting you know when you hit a key, whether it be intentional or not. So far the software is really buggy and only lets the keypad function in a special text entry mode.
