Google likely out of 700 MHz spectrum race

An article from Forbes indicates that Google might already be out of the race for the coveted 700 Mhz auction. Analysts don’t believe Google will be the one shelling out billions for the C Block spectrum, but it’s more likely that Verizon Wireless will be.

Verizon is eyeing the nationwide block to further close the gap between themselves and AT&T. Verizon currently owns 49 megahertz of spectrum compared to AT&T’s 75 megahertz. Google on the other hand will save their money for other endeavors.
