Wistron GW4: First Google phone?
At CES, Wistron displayed their GW4 smartphone which was running off of a Linux-based OS. If Wistron’s statements are true, it seems as though the OS displayed at CES is only temporary. The company claims that the GW4 will run on the Google Android OS when they present the device to large firms in March.
Featuring a 2.5″ 320×240 touchscreen and a full QWERTY keypad, the GW4 offers GSM/GPRS support (without EDGE), a 2 MP camera, WiFi 802.11g with a built-in VoIP client, and could possibly be the first Google phone if all goes well for the company during their presentations.
