CES 2008: Verizon gets HTC Vox as SMT5800
Verizon has used the CES device to take the opportunity to introduce the SMT5800, a VZW version of the HTC Vox phone. The SMT8500 brings a full QWERTY keypad to a candybar style device. Running off of Windows Mobile 6, and accompanied by Office Mobile, you can sync all of your Outlook contacts straight onto the device.
The Verizon edition of the Vox features an all-new metallic colored design, as well as similar hardware specs, such as a 2 MP camera, a microSD slot that can store up to 8GB of extra storage, as well as providing tethered EVDO networking support. Verizon offers the SMT5800 for $250 after a special online rebate, with the purchase of a 2-year contract.
