3M has unveiled a prototype for a ultra-small half-inch LED illuminated projector made for mobile phones. The tiny projector, despite its diminutive size, is said to be able to project a 40-inch image at VGA resolution. 3M says that the device could be integrated into other mobile devices as well, including digital cameras. 3M also hints that several consumer electronic companies will be utilizing their projection engine in 2008, leading us to believe we’ll be spotting this little guy popping up all around the CES floor.
