T-Mobile and 3 are coming together to combine their UK 3G radio networks, increasing coverage areas for both companies. The main issue cited for the deal was cost efficiency, reducing the cost of calls and increasing (seemingly, if there are no kinks along the chain) network reliability. Both companies have large gaps of coverage areas throughout the UK. These gaps should be closed significantly with the shared frequencies, allowing less hassle for both companies, not to mention their customers.
