SiRF, the manufacturer of the most popular GPS chip, the Star III, today announced that they will be implementing their chips for optimization with Google’s Android OS. SiRF intends to enable mobile manufactures to bring Android-based handsets to the market by providing compatibility with a broad range of products for the SiRFstarIII architecture. What this all means is that SiRF wants to make sure that Android can live up to its potential, while still making a killer profit for themselves in the meantime by gaining rep with the OHA.
