Jajah adds VoIP to the iPhone

Yes, yes, we know. It almost seems as if phone blogs are becoming “iPhone blogs”. Much of mobile news is dominated by the Apple device, and yet we just can’t stop. VoIP provider Jajah released a new web app today that adds internet telephony to the iPhone.

The application even resembles the iPhone’s normal keypad, though with a purple zest of liveliness (or tackiness, you be the judge.) The service itself is a little confusing to newcomers. You select the contact you want to call, and Jajah calls you back once they have the other party on the line via VoIP. On top of that, you’re still using your own minutes when making these calls, so basically the best use for this service is long-distance service. A pretty nice lower-cost solution for international dialing. (Try Jajah here.)
