Creative InPerson takes a stab at the video phone
A recently filed FCC document revealed that Creative is looking to reestablish the concept of a dedicated video phone with their new InPerson device. The InPerson device uses a 7-inch LCD and rotating VGA camera to allow users of the SightSpeed live video service to interact.
As well as offering a video telephony platform, InPerson will also allow for VoIP calls to active telephone numbers through a WiFi network. The device will also feature a RCA output which would allow users to display video on a external display. While no release confirmation has been made, notes in the user manual show that the device should be announced pretty close to its FCC appoval, suggesting a possible announcement at the CES expo in January.
