O2 Germany launched the Xda Orbit 2, otherwise known as the HTC Polaris, which is now one of O2’s most advanced smartphones. The Orbit 2 offers the same TouchFLO interface of the HTC Touch, but adds in an additional GPS feature and WiFi support. It also offers tri-band HSDPA which can connect through O2 3G networks in Europe as well as North American HSPA networks. O2 plans on releasing the device in December for 99 euros ($144) when purchesed with a two-year contract. A North American debut for the device is possible as the ‘Touch Cruise’ but is unlikely to occur until 2008, when it has the might be offered by AT&T or Rogers.
