O2 reportedly activated 8,000 iPhones on its launch for their network, exceeding previous speculation by up to 3x on how the phone would sell. Of course, these numbers are nothing when compared to the stellar launch of the iPhone in the U.S. and the accuracy of the figure remains debatable, as these are projections from the company themselves (usually exaggerated some). Though either way we can expect that the activation numbers were more than O2 expected.
