The vast majority of phones sold are without GPS capability. What happens if you’re lost and everyone you call has no idea where the heck you are. There’s always stopping at a gas station, but are you willing to lose that much pride? Google has rolled out a new mobile phone locater service which allows phones without GPS support to still be pinpointed within a 3 mile radius, using the wireless carrier’s cell towers location. The new service called “My Location,” simply requires users to press zero on a mobile handset equipped with the new software, at which point the location will be displayed as a blue dot on the Google map.
