Google gives an Android video demo
Google has released a video demonstration of their open-source mobile Android OS. Google has already integrated a few apps into the OS to give us a nice taste of what Android can do. The video shows us how making a phone call looks, text messaging, and the integration of Google Maps with the system package. The interface is very minimalistic, which we suppose is better for an open-source OS, seeing as most companies can tweak the interface to better fit their branding. While so far it doesn’t seem to give the broad scope of the iPhone UI, Android does look much more polished then Windows Mobile and Symbian, offering a scrolling icon navigation, as well as unobtrusive notifications. Developers can already download the SDK for Android if they want to take a look at their options. Very cool demo though.
