Norwegian telecommunications company Telenor introduced their new Turbo-3G service, which claims to offers speeds up to 10x faster than a normal 3G network. Turbo-3G will launch in November in Norway’s four largest cities, with plans to launch the service in 6 additional cities in the near future. Turbo-3G will be similar to other HSPA services launched worldwide, though is a new addition to the Norwegian mobile market, with rival company TeliaSonera launching a similar service earlier this year. Soon users on the Telenor network will have the same luxury as those who have been enabled with high speed networking for the past few months.
We’re a little skeptical about this “10x faster” claim, so we recommend taking it with a grain of salt.
