Nokia opts out of buying Jaiku; copies instead

Sources have released an image of the rumored next-generation interface for the Nokia S60 software. The new software bares a startling resemblance to the Jaiku mobile service, a web-based Twitter-like application made for mobile users. Jaiku was purchased by Google earlier this month, thought Nokia was one of the names brought up in buyout talks for the mobile application. Nokia might have thought copying the service was a good alternative after being beat to the Jaiku punch by Google. To be honest Google (most likely) bought Jaiku for its talented developers, not for the actual service.
