Touchscreen keypad patent filed

Looks like touch-based interface in cellphones are starting to make even more headway with the Apple iPhone and LG Prada paving the way (some will even include the Treo 600 and its successors as well along with a slew of HTC smartphones). Sony Ericsson has just patented an application known as “Programmable keypad”. Hopefully the final product would be one that Sony Ericsson is proud off, as losing out in this potential blockbuster market could affect the company’s bottomline dramatically.
