Push-It Alert at DEMOFall
Push-It Alert was presented at DEMOFall, where the main thrust of the software is to push dynamically formatted web content towards cellphone users. You won’t need regular WAP or XML pages though, as it relies instead on “call through” capabilities. Push-It Alert aims to bring an API to content publishers, enabling them to set up alerts for programs such as emails, IMs, and RSS feeds, which means changes to any of those aforementioned programs will result in the user being alerted. One major hurdle to overcome would be relying on third parties to install and use their API, although initial screenshots show that MySpace is involved which could turn the tide in their favor.
