Cellphone control suspended by AT&T

Published

AT&T has suspended its service that allows parents to limit the time when their kids’ cellphones can be used since that could potentially restrict return calls from 911 operators. Currently, AT&T’s Smart Limits service enables kids to call 911 when restrictions are in effect, but then any 911 operator won’t be able to call back during restricted hours. This service was suspended since Saturday, and AT&T is currently undertaking an exercise to notify its customers while crediting their accounts. Hopefully AT&T will resolve this problem soonest possible as the service is pretty handy to parents who want to keep a tighter rein on their kids’ cellphone usage, but no deadline has been set yet.
