Sony to come out with phone?

Word on the street has it that the head honchos as Sony Ericsson are currently mulling over the prospect of integrating the PlayStation name into a cellphone. According to Peter Ahnegard who is in charge of all things gaming from Sony Ericsson, “Up until today we haven’t felt we could launch a PlayStation phone because it wouldn’t be recognised as a true continuation of that brand of products. It’s obviously something that we’re looking at but right now I can’t really comment. Before Christmas, certainly… but exactly which Christmas I can’t confirm!”. Sounds like a phone-capable PSP is in the works, and I certainly can’t help but look forward to it.
