NTT DoCoMo unleash Super G
The Japanese are famous for their anime and robot creations, but one is inclined to agree as well that their cellphone networks are among the most advanced in the world. NTT DoCoMo has proved that yet again by working on a technology that enables cellphones to hit speeds of up to 300Mbps by the year 2009, combining advanced versions of HSDPA and HSUPA in addition to four MIMO antennas. I guess the 3G spectrum is about as good as it gets at that speed, although what practical purpose is there for such speeds, I don’t know. Streaming of live sports? Real time video calls at 60fps in full HD resolution? The answer will surface come 2009, so patience is the key here.
