Sony Ericsson files mobile patent

While Sony Ericsson does not deny that it has filed a patent application that touches on a mobile device with gaming functionality with the US Patent & Trademark Office, the final device is far from ready for a launch. Sony Ericsson wants to tread carefully in this area, checking out the market forces at work before deciding on the right time to strike. After all, they don’t want to just throw the Sony brand down the drain by releasing a sub-par gaming phone, considering that class of device is by far much harder to develop than a good music phone or a decent camera phone. Sorry folks, no PSP2 yet.
