Alltel offers new Samsung handsets

Alltel customers will be getting some Samsung goodness in the form of the Samsung SCH-R200 and SCH-R500. The former is a slim candybar handset that targets the entry level market, and is actually a watered down Samsung Wafer cellphone with the absence of several features to make it more affordable. The Samsung SCH-R500 on the other hand, is a 17mm slim clamshell handset that comes with interchangeable covers – great for those who want a fresh look once in a while. It features EV-DO connectivity, an internal display at 176 x 220 pixels resolution, Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, and stereo speakers. Pricing details are unknown, but we do know the R500 is actually a CDMA version of the Samsung SGH-T639 that is available from T-Mobile USA.
